Range Rules & Safety
Safety comes first at Hill Top Arms & Range. Please review these important requirements before visiting the range.
Before You Shoot
- Shooters must have recent experience with the type of firearm they will be using—rifle or pistol—and must be able to demonstrate safe handling and competency on the range.
- All shooters must complete the Hill Top Arms waiver and liability release form.
- Shooters must be at least 16 years old.
- Shooters who are 16 or 17 years old must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Firearms & Ammunition
- Handguns: Any handgun caliber using ball or hollow point ammunition is permitted during normal range hours.
- Rifles: .223 Rem/5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 7.62x39mm using ball or hollow point ammunition are permitted during designated weeknight hours and all day Saturday, unless a special event is being held in the shop.
- Not permitted: Shotshell, armor-piercing, incendiary, or rubber projectiles.
- Shotguns are not permitted, including when firing slugs.
- Steel-case and reloaded ammunition are not permitted.
- All firearms must be secured when brought into the building in a case, range bag, or holster.
Safety & Range Conduct
- All firearms must be in compliance with State and Federal law.
- Hill Top Arms reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who demonstrates a lack of firearm safety or respect for fellow shooters.
- Shooters are responsible for any damage they cause to the range. Damage caused by a shooter will be charged to that shooter’s account.
